Dr. Matthew Tanner is a trained counselor and ordained minister with over 17 years of experience providing pastoral counseling and ministry leadership. He earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in Leadership Development, a Masters of Divinity, a Masters of Theology, and is in the process of becoming a certified Biblical Counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.  Dr. Tanner serves as Director of Wounded Leadership, a ministry focused on supporting individuals through writing, counseling, and speaking.

Dr. Tanner brings a unique background to his counseling practice, drawing on his theological training and real-world experience guiding individuals, churches and ministries. He is passionate about coming alongside those who are hurting to promote healing, peace, and spiritual growth. (Philippians 4:8-9)

With a gentle and compassionate approach, Dr. Tanner creates a warm, understanding environment where clients feel safe to share vulnerably. He empowers individuals to access their Biblical truths, build coping skills, heal from past traumas and trials, and reconnect with God’s purpose for their life. Dr. Tanner specializes in working with clergy, ministry leaders, and their families to process wounds related to leadership, resolve faith struggles, and restore hope. His ultimate goal is to help clients embrace their calling and maximize their potential for Kingdom impact.
